چکیده
Abstract Using data for 387 Nobel Prize winners in physics, chemistry, or physiology/medicine from 1901 to 2000, this study focuses on the relation between timing of prestigious awards and human longevity. In particular, it uses a linear regression model examine how winner’s longevity is affected by (1) age at which award won, (2) total number collected, (3) delay work recognition. To alleviate estimation issues stemming survival selection, we conduct our analyses using subsamples surviving individuals controlling age-specific life expectancy. Our results suggest that receiving younger related longer expected lifespan (e.g., obtaining 10 years earlier associated with an additional 1 year compared average population expectancy). The also point strong negative association major scientific relative expectancy, further indicates benefit early Yet, did not find evidence suggesting received correlated Nor are able observe duration reception (waiting time recognition) changes

Dietary flavonoids, abundant in plant-based foods, have been shown to improve cognitive function. Specifically, a reduction in the risk of dementia, enhanced performance on some cognitive tests, and improved cognitive function in elderly patients with mild impairment have been associated with a regular intake of flavonoids.1,2 A subclass of flavonoids called flavanols, which are widely present ...
متن کاملGender and Science: Women Nobel Laureates
Women and their creativity are underrepresented in science. To date, few women have been awarded the Nobel Prize in science. Eleven female Nobel laureates in physics, chemistry and physiology/medicine between 1901 and 2006 were compared with 37 males who received the Nobel Prize in the same area one year prior and one year after the women. Data analyzed included birth order, marital status, chi...

Pulmonary complications often involve a modulation of innate immune responses [11–19] , and many studies have shown that surfactant proteins play a critical role in these processes [review in 20 ]. In this issue, Sylvia Ujma et al.
